With PI-Day drawing to a close, we’re rolling out a couple of system changes at Games @ PI including a few new programs. This year sees the grand return of the PI Voucher Dice, expansion of our Hobby Programs and rollout of a table booking system.
If you’re a member, PI Points are available to members at a rate of 1 point per $10 spent (on product, not services). By now, members should have started accruing points from purchases at the store.
Here are just some of the possible things you can spend them on.
Of particular note to hobbyists is the fact that the airbrush booths are back.
We’re also expanding the Games @ PI Painting Pass system with an Airbrush Pass, so if you’re looking for a compressor to work with, we’ve got you covered.
Here are the details for the two hobby programs:
Painting Pass – $5 One Day access to Games @ PI’s collection of Citadel Paints. Airbrush Pass – $5 One Day access to Games @ PI’s airbrush booth and compressor.
If you’re a store member, here’s where your PI Points come in as well. One PI Point is enough to set you up with day access to both the Painting Pass and the Airbrush Pass.
Anyway, did you miss these?
Well we did too, so Games @ PI Voucher Dice are coming back as part of our membership program.
Games @ PI members will be able to redeem PI Voucher Dice for 15 PI Points and these dice will be valid for the year of issue.
Each die will be exchangeable at Games @ PI for a $6 value and will be valid until the subsequent PIe-Day celebration (22/7).
Want space for your wargaming throw downs, need tables for your RPG or just want to roll some dice and sling some cards?
Well, we’re here to help.
With the new booking system, 2 table slots will be held for customers looking to play some games at the store. Tables slots can be booked during the 12nn to 4pm slot and the 5pm to 9pm slot at a rate of $20 per 6×4 table for a four hour slot.
Members can redeem 2 PI points for a table booking slot as well.
Booking fees only apply to table booking for non-store event usage. Official Event participants (E.g. D&D AL, Fly Casual Wednesdays, MTG Night and Keyforge Fridays, Etc) will maintain regular event signup procedures.
So, these are the basics. We’ll be pushing out more options down the road, as well as a couple of really cool point redemption programs along the way, so keep an eye out on the PI website for more details.
X-Wing Nights at Games @ PI have started and it’s nice to see old and new faces coming over to try out the new system in a casual environment.
As promised, we keep the event formats spinning every week, so here’s the format for this Wednesday’s event (24/7). Tables will open from 7pm to 10pm and each player who plays at least one game will receive an Extended Art promotional card.

You know what we like to do. We like playing games and having fun, but we’re always up for something new, so on top of the usual spread of “Oh, we restocked this”, our philosophy is to keep bringing in bits of new to tantalise and entertain.

Rebel Spies bring dire news. It’s the big boy himself. The Executor-class Super Star Destroyer for Star Wars Armada is now available to order, and it dwarfs everything else released so far by a massive margin.
The Super Star Destroyer expansion pack will go on preorder at $360 and quantities are limited.
Preorders are open this week for the Super Star Destroyer Expansion for Star Wars Armada and will close on Friday, 19/7/19.*
The Super Star Destroyer Expansion Pack arrives to swell the forces of the Galactic Empire with the first ship of an entirely new class—huge ships. The pre-painted, beautifully sculpted Super Star Destroyer miniature within this expansion is the largest miniature yet created by Fantasy Flight Games, measuring over 24 inches from tip to tip.
Of course, such a huge miniature serves as a stunning reminder of Imperial might on the battlefield—and it’s also a fully functional warship that you can add to your Imperial fleets. With four unique ship sheets, an assortment of tokens, and twenty-four upgrade cards, including iconic commanders like Admiral Piett and Emperor Palpatine, any rival fleet will tremble to face the might of your onslaught.
* As quantities are limited, please place an order with a 50% deposit at Games @ PI to reserve your copy. In the event of shortage, SSDs will be allocated in the chronological order in which their orders were placed.
As they like to say, ‘In the Grim Darkness of the far future, there is only war’. At Games @ PI, we like our wars contained primarily to the tabletop, so what better way to celebrate the hobby than to have a Warhammer 40,000 Weekend on the 27th and 28th of July.
Whether you’re neophyte to the hobby or a seasoned veteran, we’ve got something for everyone. Even if you’re completely new and just want to see what all the fuss is about.
We’ll be hosting Gameplay and Painting Demos across both days, so if even if you’re just curious about how things work out in the slightest, pop down to Games @ PI to learn to paint your first model, and see it in action.
Never painted a model before? Come try out the Citadel Colour paint range and see how it works out for you. It’s easy and we’ll show you how to paint a model in five easy steps.
Here’s what’s going down.
27th July 2019: Warhammer Everchosen Painting Contest: Submission Got a model you want to show off? Put it up for Everchosen. Submission cutoff is 3pm, 27/7/19.

28th July 2019: The Battle of the Fang The local Warhammer community will be staging a refight of the Battle of the Fang using the new Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse Large Scale Combat Rules.
With 12/7 being release day, another slew of Star Wars X-Wing starfighters launch into combat today. N-1 Naboo Starfighters aligned with the Republic race to intercept Hyena droid bombers, while Resistance transports deliver personnel in a variety of covert operations.
Second Edition versions of the VT-49 Decimator, the YT-1300 Millennium Falcon, Tie/SF Fighter and A/SF-01 B-Wing fighters are also available as well.
Also in stock are new official plastic X-Wing Movement Tools and Range Ruler, a perfect replacement for replacing the cardboard templates from the core set.
With the launch of X-Wing Wave IV just around the corner, we’re rolling out our new X-Wing program.

For those of you who’ve already noticed, we’ve turned Wednesday nights at Games @ PI into our official X-Wing nights, so whether you’re a Clone Pilot, Bounty Hunter or just First Order Squadron Leader, you’re always welcome to pop on down for our open play events.
