… Find Out… – MicroMacro Full House

Hey PI-Fans, Swing on down to Games @ PI to pick up a copy of MicroMacro: Crime City - Full House at Games @ PI. An oddball title, the MicroMacro series combines the character search of a classic 'Where's Wally' style title with the investigative gameplay of a detective thriller and this Spiel des Jahres winning series has players poring over a massive 75cm x 110cm table mat for darkly humorous clues on a series of crimes. In each case, players work their way through a series of card instructions that require them to find a specific crime scene case on the board. Subsequent cards will point them towards looking for specific pieces of information on the map pertaining to the case itself and interactions involving the suspects, ranging from locations to items and objects linked to the offense itself. As play progresses, players will be able to puzzle out [...]

Magic Maze Kids

Hey PI-Fans, The king was accidentally turned into a frog! Gather your friends, stride across the forest, and find the correct ingredients to prepare a potion that will cure him. If you're looking for a good cooperative experience to play with the younger ones, I highly recommend Magic Maze Kids, a family friendly adaptation of the Magic Maze board game. In Magic Maze Kids, each player is responsible for movement of tokens along a single vertice (up, down, left, right) - as a result, in order to navigate the jungle maps before the timer runs down, players need to coordinate actions with each other to traverse the windy jungle paths. Tutorials gradually teach players the rules, and several levels of difficulty make the game evolve with the players. As a teaching tool, Magic Maze Kids works as a wonderful way to get some gaming time in with younger audiences, while [...]

A Shelf of Shiney

Hey PI-Fans, If you're wondering where the team has gone... well, in a classic case of laws of shipment attraction*, thanks to a combination of freight and Thanksgiving, everything kind of rolled up into this giant deathball of a shipment. TLDR: Azul: Master Chocolatier, Bag of Chips, Burger ASAP, Challengers, Family Business, Hand-to-Hand Wombat, Mind MGMT, Squid Game, Ticket to Ride: San Francisco, Villainous in stock. On the board game front, the suddenly overloaded New Games shelf should speak for itself, with new editions of classic titles as well as a whole stack of weirder ones. This is going to be a word salad wall of text, so hang on. There's a big food theme going this year, starting with Azul: Master Chocolatier, a candy themed limited edition of the classic Azul board game. Trundling up to the shelves is a reprint of Ramen Fury, along with the probability management [...]

Taking Photos of Pokemon – S&S Charizard Ultra Premium Collection and Picture Perfect

Hey PI-Fans, Another week chugging along, another week of new products hitting the shelves. We're taking a brief break from out MTG Learn to Play Event (come and play with us btw) to take another TCG out for a spin. We've gotten our allocation of Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield Ultra-Premium Collection—Charizard (that's a mouthful), featuring the original 'not-dragon' dragon Charizard, so if you want to secure yours, shoot us a call ASAP. On the board game front, Picture Perfect has hit the shelves, a chaotic photography board game of wrangling participants with often contradictory desires into the best possible positions to take an event photo in a game that will have you shoving around physical standees to fulfil the demands of the photo participants to the best of your ability. They're weird bedfellows to arrive at the same time, but this does little to detract from them being awesome [...]

Stardew Valley and an Empire Alone

Hey PI-Fans, Strange how shipping works in this day and age. You plan out arrival schedules and this absolutely wonky combination of things just drops out of the ether together despite being staggered orders. After being lost in the warp and having basically gone around the world, our shipment of Empire Alone sourcebooks for BattleTech has finally been delivered after delays. Also somehow arriving together is another batch of ConcernedApe's Stardew Valley board game, a cooperative board game set in the same setting of the bestselling indie farming life-sim. The first time we had it in, it basically just entirely disappeared, so we recommend grabbing your copy ASAP. Otherwise, there's plenty of restocks of classic titles like Sushi Go Party that people have been clamoring about. Here's to a great weekend, folks. - Kenneth From the new ilKhan on Terra comes word to the Wolf Empire of their Clan’s victory. [...]

Bureau of Investigation – You got Cthulhu in my Sherlock

Hey PI-Fans, It's always entertaining when a series becomes a brand, especially when the series is one as deserving as the Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective series. If you've not taken the games out for a spin, you absolutely should. The Baker Street Irregulars, Jack the Ripper & West End Adventures, Carlton House & Queen's Park and The Thames Murders & Other Cases take you into the case files of the inimitable Master Detective. But what happens... when things get... stranger? This is where the Bureau of Investigation steps in. Building on the investigative mechanics of the Sherlock Holmes series, the Bureau of Investigation continues to provide you with a set of case files, maps, notes, newspaper clippings that players have come to expect from the Sherlock Holmes series, Except you're not in Baker Street anymore. Welcome to the streets of Boston, where your investigative agency is tasked with conducting research [...]

Voices In My Head!

VOICES IN MY HEAD NOW AVAILABLE Hey PI-Fans, Sometimes, people do crazy things. Meet Guy. It's probably not his finest hour, given Guy's on trial for robbing a bank. At this point, his inner monologue's a bit scrambled and his personality fragments are fighting for control of his body in Voices In My Head, a comedic board game that has more than a few similarities to a certain animated film from 2015 (nudge nudge wink wink). Unfortunately, in this case, the personalities aren't particularly in unison over the outcome and being on trial, Guy has to deal with a Prosecutor trying to put him away as well. In an absolutely wacky take on 'worker' placement, each personality attempts to take control of various mental functions of Guy, including his planning, observation, speech, instincts and motor skills, shoving control markers onto raised platforms and potentially physically displacing previously added tokens and [...]

7 Wonders Architects – Building Upon The Shoulders Of Giants

7 WONDERS: ARCHITECTS NOW AVAILABLE AT GAMES @ PI AND WEBSTORE Hey PI-Fans, It's taken a long, meandering road, but 7 Wonders: Architects, a new addition to the 7 Wonders family of games has hit our shelves. Comfortably slotting itself in between the two-player head to head gameplay of 7 Wonders Duel and the full complexity of a game of regular 7 Wonders sits Architects, making it an excellent introductory title for new players getting into the hobby. This streamlined approach makes it far more approachable especially for people starting out who might find themselves overwhelmed with the scope and complexity of the mainline title.   7 Wonders Architects borrows many of the resource management and draft aspects from 7 Wonders but makes a conscious effort to avoid overloading players with choices. Each turn, a player may draft resources from one of three cards presented to them which they will [...]
