30 Years of Service in the Emperor’s Name

Hey PI-Fans, This Saturday marks the 30th Anniversary of the Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine, and Games @ PI is kicking off celebrations on the 16th of April, with a Build-A-Hero event from 1pm to 6pm. We’ve also procured limited quantities of the limited edition 30th Anniversary Imperial Space Marine model, which we’ll be releasing to the public on a first-come-first-serve basis. Up for a nostalgia trip? Grab a copy of Index Astartes, and take a walk down memory lane, to where there were Half-Eldar Librarians (SHOCK HORROR), and take a look at the developmental  history of this iconic warrior. Or pick up your copy of Angels of Death and flesh out your Astartes Taskforce with all new formations and psychic powers. We’re looking forward to seeing you at our Deathwatch Marine workshop on Saturday, and excited to see what you’ll be slapping together on the day itself. See you Saturday, folks. [...]

The Manager Is Bored. Also a BattleTech fan…

Hey PI-Fans, As the first main line BattleTech novel since Endgame in 2002, (or if you prefer, To Ride The Chimera from the MechWarrior fiction line),  Embers of War has big shoes to fill. Those of you who know me know I am fan of giant robots. And, as far as giant robots go, few science fiction properties have managed to grab me quite like the BattleTech universe.| As fans like to say; "Came for the giant robots, stayed for the politics". And, as you can tell from the article title, I am bored. There are seven BattleMechs on the cover art of Embers of War. So here's the deal. The first person to come in to Games @ PI and name all the BattleMech chassis on the cover to the counter staff gets this $6 Voucher Die.* To the victor go went the spoils. Hatchetman, Crusader, Orion, Centurion, Dragon, Banshee, Salamander

Meow?

Hey PI-Fans, Stock-ma-geddon continues with a feline frenzy. Be the best crazy cat lady you can be in Here Kitty Kitty! as your battle your neighbours to attract cats to your yard. Pile your stack of cats in Cat Tower or teach them to be ninjas in Ninja Camp. Of course, it's not an entire catastrophe. Munchkin bucks the trend with Munchkin Puppies. Meanwhile urban renewal continues with Dice City and the All That Glitters expansion as you roll your way to victory in this all new city builder. Speaking of urban renewal, we've got an all new BattleTech novel. Embers of War is the first canonical BattleTech novel published since 2008, and picks up right where Endgame left off. Anyway, while you're loading up on goodies, don't forget we've got an upcoming Build-A-Marine Workshop on Saturday 16th April, so keep those tools sharp. - Kenneth, Games @ PI Manager ______________________________________________________ [...]

X-WING: A SPOT OF PIRACY MK II – ELECTRIC BOOGALOO

Pretty. What do we blow up first? — Wraith Squadron motto A Spot of Piracy Mk ii - Electric Boogaloo is a sequel to the original A Spot of Piracy X-Wing event run by Games @ PI in June 2015. The big difference here is... well... since that last convoy fell afoul of some dastardly pirates... well... the convoy ships have started shooting back. So prepare to 杀人放火. Come on down to Games @ PI on the 24th of April and put your piloting skills to the test in this free-for-all test of mettle, as pilots attempt to engage in some blatant cheaty-faced theft as they attempt to recover booty from a convoy of fleeing cargo ships and walk away with swag from the Spring 2016 X-Wing Tournament Kit including the swanky new alternate art Rebel Veteran Instincts card. Anyone know who that character is? She looks familiar but I can't place her. Summary: A Spot of Piracy [...]

Smuggling Run

Hey PI-Fans, As mentioned last week, Kenneth's Law of Shipment Attraction posits that "Regardless of how far apart shipments are planned and shipped, they will arrive together." Murphy's Addendum is an important modern corollary to the theory.  It postulates that "The possibility of shipment arrival increases proportionately to the inconvenience of said arrival multiplied inversely by the shortage of manpower at the current point of time." Regardless, the fact that the proverbial shoe has dropped means times are good for gamers of all stripes. – Kenneth, Games @ PI Manager/The fact remains however that there is the other shoe, so to speak, which remains firmly suspended above my head. ______________________________________________________ Board and Card Game Restocks Card of the Dead Takenoko Tail Feathers New Miniature Wargame Releases Star Wars X-Wing: Ghost Expansion Star Wars X-Wing: Inquisitor's TIE Expansion Star Wars X-Wing: Mist Hunter Expansion Star Wars X-Wing: Punishing One Expansion Miniature Wargame Restocks Star Wars Imperial Assault: Chewbacca Expansion Star Wars Imperial Assault: Han [...]

We’re Not Dead

I am not dead yet, I can dance and I can sing I am not dead yet, I can do the Highland Fling I am not dead yet, No need to go to bed No need to call the doctor Cause I'm not yet dead. - He Is Not Yet Dead, Monty Python's Spamalot Morning PI-Fans, If you've been following the press, you should be aware that there was a fire in the Midpoint Orchard building. We're just letting you know that rumors of our demise are highly exaggerated.
