The Stars Are Wrong

Hey PI-Fans, It's a muggy Monday morning and we're all heading back to work. Still... it's going to be a short week thanks to the coming National Day Holiday. And that's as good an excuse as any to break out a game or two with some friends, no? Doesn't matter whether it's cracking open a board game, flipping some cards, rolling some dice or pushing some miniatures. It's all in good fun. Besides. It's a new week, and you've known us long enough to know what we're going to be making noise about. The cops have you surrounded! As your mafia boss escapes into his helicopter, he drops his Wallet, which contains ID cards and wads of currency from around the world. Gameplay consists of a variable number of rounds in which players attempt to locate a plausible ID card and either acquire bribe money or ditch extra currency. Holding [...]

Do you believe in Magic?

Hey PI-Fans, Restocks are in. This time around, we're looking at Ticket to Ride Germany and a hefty slab of Tokaido, Carcassonne,  Pandemic and Codenames. Of course, we're also keeping the new stuff flowing as usual. So here's what's up. Did you ever want you brain teasers to go three dimensional? Get ready for an intense 3-dimensional puzzle game that will bend your mind. In this game you must arrange the blocks to match the "shadows" depicted on the challenge cards. Shadow Blocks contains three levels of difficulty and enough blocks for up to four players. Dice Bazaar is a family friendly, dice game for two to four players in which players compete to purchase the most valuable products at the bazaar.  On your turn, roll your six player dice. A Dire Need Of Caffeine And A Snack…

Hey PI-Fans, I had something typed up. Then the internet went out. So. Imagine something witty and laden with dry humor. Then remember you're talking about Kenneth and remember that that would basically never happen ever. In lieu of a proper announcement, I figure that I should inform all those who preordered the L5R The Fires Within and The Ebb and Flow Dynasty packs that they are available for collection. The same applies with the Arkham Horror: The Boundary Beyond Mythos pack. Then there's the board games. In this fast-paced Ticket to Ride game, players race one another through the busy streets of New York City to visit the most prestigious Tourist Attractions and complete their Destination Tickets. Ticket to Ride: New York features the familiar gameplay from the Ticket to Ride game series — collect cards, claim routes, draw tickets — but on a scaled-down map of Manhattan that allows you to [...]

Grombindal’s Perilous Incline League

Hey PI-Fans, Whether you worship the God-Emperor, the God-King or you're a dirty heretic, xenophile, poncy aelf, glorious beardling... well... *AHEM* Apologies. Regardless, it's time to break out all those little plastic, resin and metal toy soldiers and hit the table with Grombindal's Perilous Incline League in tribute to that most baronial of beardlings and his magnificent magazine. Curious how this is going to work? Well look no further. Well... actually... look further, since if you stop here, this just isn't going to work. SIGN UP FOR THE LEAGUE AT GAMES @ PI. If you don't actually sign up, nobody is going to know you're actually on the ladder. And then nobody is going to be able to acknowledge your prowess and generalship. There are benefits to anonymity. This isn't one of them. PLAY GAMES OF WARHAMMER AT GAMES @ PI. Notice that we didn't specify either Warhammer 40,000 or Warhammer Age [...]

“Violence is what people do when they run out of good ideas.”

Hey PI-Fans, We've buried our staff under a flurry of dice, and they're frantically sorting them. In the meantime... well... I'm going to sit here and talk about games. Because it's what I do. Also dice. Because that's apparently ALSO what I do. Especially these little fellas who have apparently earned the nickname of 'Kueh Lapis' dice amongst the staff. ______________________________________________ Are you good with nautical nonsense? Can you kep a seacret? That's seaaaa-crets. You get it. Try to collect four of the same card before any of the other teams, then pass a secret signal to your teammate. If your partner sees your signal and yells, "YOU'VE GOT CRABS," you GAIN a point. If an opponent sees your signal and yells, "You've got crabs," you LOSE a point. The team with the most crustaceans effectively wins the game. The Expanse Board Game is a game of politics, conquest, and [...]

Not All Soldiers

Hey PI-Fans, June's almost out. As I sit here in my office and type this, it's sort of amazing to watch time disappear. Never enough of it, I tell you. Thing about time is that it's all in how you make use of it. So in a bid to speed up your transactions, we've upgraded to Contactless Payment. Grab your game, tap your CC and go. Because when you have a new game you want, the last thing you want to be doing is spending your time in a queue. Anyway... speaking of new games... ______________________________________________ Build a Unicorn Army. Betray your friends. Unicorns are your friends now. The object of Unstable Unicorns is to build your stable of unicorns the fastest. Throughout this endeavor, cards can be played by yourself (or others) to help, hinder, or otherwise destroy your plans. Seek revenge or protect your stable using your Magic! Or [...]

Go Farm

Hey PI-Fans, Another week rolls around and we're keeping the momentum going with more releases on the board game and RPG fronts. Now to arm twist someone into running Tales from the Loop. - Kenneth, Games @ PI Manager   Step into the alternate '80s universe created by scifi artist Simon Stålenhag in this retro RPG, in the vein of ET and Stranger Things. Middle school was the worst of days. Puberty, parents, school yard cliques, cybernetically enhanced birds attacking your sleepy town. For the children of the Tales from the Loop RPG, winner of five ENnies in 2017 including Best Game, Best Setting, Best Writing and Product of the Year, this is but a small sample of the things they have to deal with on an everyday basis. The Champions are here and determined to bring optimism to the world after Civil War II when Avenger fought Avenger. Expand your [...]
