Call of Cthulhu LCG: Touched by the Abyss

Those who gaze too long upon the face of the Abyss risk being drawn into madness and terror…

The Revelations of a few madmen, cultists, and daring investigators continue to shape the destiny of Arkham, Massachusetts and its surrounding area. While the faculty of Miskatonic University and government agents work to fight the spread of secretive cults, territorial thugs battle with terrible monsters. And the Order of the Silver Twilight seeks the means to forever banish from our world all those who would stop them.

In Touched by the Abyss, the stakes are greater than ever. Throughout the Revelations cycle, the separate factions of Call of Cthulhu LCG have struggled for control of key Tomes. They understand knowledge is power for those who can wield it, and this thrilling conclusion to the cycle drives that point home, as six rival factions hatch massive conspiracies around their newfound knowledge.

Each of the six faction-specific conspiracies from Touched by the Abyss share the standard number of four struggles, but there’s little else that’s standard about these conspiracies. Not only do they provide powerful, thematic rewards for their completion, but they focus on the struggles at which their associated factions excel. Who will dare challenge the Agency’s operatives as they wage their Shadow War? Few rivals can hope to outgun the Agency’s government officials, and they’ll have to think carefully before committing forces to a conspiracy with three Combat struggles.

These conspiracies are nearly as notable for what they lack as they are for what they feature. They feature multiple struggles best-suited to their factions’ strengths, but that also means they avoid those struggles likeliest to play against them. With time to conduct sufficient research, planning, and preparation, the Agency can hunt foul Monsters and wage its Shadow War without risk of going mad with the appearance of terrifying entities from the beyond.

Elder Things and those Lunatics bound to The King in Yellow interpret the portents of the Revelations cycle in a manner drastically different than the government officials of the Agency and the cloistered ranks of the Order of the Silver Twilight. Accordingly, Touched by the Abyss introduces to the game the final four translations of the dread Necronomicon. Only one version of this terrifying Tome can be in play at any time, but the dramatic game effects it permits each faction mean that rival forces are bound to compete for control of its secrets.

Tannhäuser: Edison Single Miniature Pack

Armed with the best weapons and technology the Union can muster, Colonel James Curtis Edison is a one man army, capable of bringing down the largest of soldiers with the flick of a switch and a pull of a trigger.

In the early years of the Great War, a single plane appeared over Germany. It meticulously bombed key Reich locations, and then, without stopping, crossed over the Atlantic, heading directly for Washington D.C. When the craft unabashedly landed at the Potomac airbase, no one expected to see young James Curtis Edison step out of the cockpit to be greeted by his father, Thomas Edison, who had lost the presidency to the revolutionary Woodrow Wilson in the election three years prior.

Both Edisons took the world by storm after that fateful day. James Curtis Edison took to the battlefield, fighting alongside the common soldier, while his father took back the presidency with a tactical genius unmatched by most generals. When James Curtis Edison takes to the field, every Union soldier who serves under him knows he’s in good hands. Edison has never left a man behind, and is always the last man to leave a mission. His age, experience, and charisma leaves no doubt in anyone’s mind that he will be president of the free Union of Nations one day.

Wielding the fearsome MENLO Gun, a design based on the technology recovered at Roswell, Edison is able to bend time itself to reuse spent ammunition. Meanwhile, Edison’s special ability, “America’s Favorite Son,” represents the deep dedication his men feel toward their leader. When Edison is declared as the target of an attack, nearby friendly troopers will flock to his aid, shielding him with their own lives!

But will his remarkable courage and technological prowess be enough to see him through his most dangerous assignment yet? The included scenario, First In. Last Out., places Edison and a small contingent of backup in the heart of a Reich-infested castle. When the mission goes bad, Edison and his men will have to make a hasty retreat. While the Reich would love nothing more than to bring down America’s finest hero, Edison refuses to leave the castle until his men have made it out first. Can you lead his team to safety?

This heroic expansion includes one painted figure and accompanying character sheet, an all-new scenario, and all the tokens and equipment cards necessary to bring Edison’s inspiring leadership to your battles.

Eclipse Phase: Rimward

Humanity stands on the cusp of a new age, with accelerated technological growth converging toward a singularity point. Despite social and ecological upheavals on Earth, humanity has conquered the solar system. Technology has transformed our lives. Everyone is wirelessly networked, AIs process vast amounts of information, and nano-fabrication enables people to “print” complex devices from the molecular level at home. People can genefix, enhance, and clone their bodies. People’s minds and memories can be digitized, uploaded, transferred over long distances, and downloaded into new bodies (biological or synthetic). Death has been defeated, for those who can afford it.

Then, the Fall. Rampant netwars soon exploded into physical conflicts with spiraling body counts between the battered nations of Earth. During these wars, a group of military AIs called TITANS quietly achieved full sentience and autonomy, and turned against transhumanity, enveloping the system in unprecedented levels of violence. In just a few years, transhumanity was nearly wiped out. Earth was transformed into a toxic hellhole, and many habitats were left frozen in space. Just as quickly as they came, the TITANS disappeared, leaving behind a network of wormhole gateways: the Pandora Gates. They allow instantaneous, though often fatal, travel to distant star systems. Only a handful of Pandora Gates exist, and each one is highly contested as people risk certain death to enter and explore what lies beyond.

After the Fall, transhumanity lives on. Rimward explores the outer system, from the Main Belt to the Kuiper Belt. Rebel transhuman scientists and techno-anarchists struggle to maintain new societies like the Jovian Republic, Titanian Commonwealth, Ultimates, and Autonomous Alliance. And on the fringes and in the niches lurk networked tribes of political extremists, religious fanatics, criminal entrepeneurs, and bizarre posthumans, among other, stranger and more alien things…

Shadowrun: The Clutch of Dragons

Never, ever deal with a dragon. Shadowrunners have heard that dictum so often, they frequently say those words in their sleep. But what the aphorism forgets to tell you is this—what if you don’t have a choice?

The tension between dragons has been growing, and the big lizards are throwing every weapon they have at each other, including shadowrunners—especially shadowrunners. Extractions, industrial sabotage, theft, wetwork—there’s plenty of jobs in all those areas, and dragons are finding ways to get reluctant runners to work for them. Maybe they’ll hide their involvement in the run, or maybe they’ll bribe the runners with large piles of nuyen or blackmail them with their past activities. Or maybe they’ll just tell the runners they have a simple choice of working for them or being eaten.

Whatever tactics they choose, the dragons are going to be active and aggressive, and if runners want to survive, they better be on their toes. They need to know who the draconic players are, what they’re up to, and what might happen to them if they fall into a dragon’s grip. They need to be ready for anything, because when dragons go at each other, the world shakes, the earth beneath them burns—and far too often, shadowrunners die.

The Clutch of Dragons provides the information gamemasters and players need to involve draconic plots in their games, from profiles of individuals dragons, their plots, and their lairs to information about the latest efforts to build anti-dragon weapons. This is a critical reference for any players who want to test their skills against the machinations of dragons—or who want to see just how much trouble they can survive.

The Clutch of Dragons is for use with Shadowrun, Twentieth Anniversary Edition.

Dominion: Hinterland

The world is big and your kingdom small. Small when compared to the world, that is; it’s moderate-sized when compared to other kingdoms. But in a big world like this one – big when compared to smaller worlds anyway, if such things exist; it’s moderate-sized when compared to worlds of roughly the same size, and a little small when compared to worlds just a little larger – well, to make a long story short – short when compared to longer stories anyway – it is time to stretch your borders. You’ve heard of far-off places – exotic countries, where they have pancakes but not waffles, where the people wear the wrong number of shirts, and don’t even have a word for the look two people give each other when they each hope that the other will do something that they both want done but which neither of them wants to do. It is to these lands that you now turn your gaze.

Dominion: Hinterlands is the sixth addition to the game of Dominion. It adds 26 new Kingdom cards to Dominion, including 20 Actions, 3 Treasures, 3 Victory cards, and 3 Reactions. The central theme is cards that do something immediately when you buy them or gain them.

And now we’re offering three special bundle deals for member’s only! Purchase Dominion: Hinterlands and Dominion: Intrigue or Dominion: Hinterlands and original Dominion for only $99.90! Or purchase Dominion: Hinterlands and Dominion: Prosperity for only $86.90! Please note, however, that there are no further members’ discounts on these bundles.

Act quickly, as these bundle deals end this Sunday, 30 September!

The Resident Evil DBG brings the story to life in a game of strategy where players construct their card decks while they play. Choose one of your favorite characters from Resident Evil such as: Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, or Albert Wesker among others. Players start with only the most basic of items and weapons. As the game progresses, players build their arsenal with additional Weapons, Ammunition, Action or Item cards to customize their deck and improve their ability in defeating the Infected! Your deck will be your lifeline to survival. How will you survive the zombie outbreak?

The Resident Evil DBG consists of 250 playing cards, 3 different game modes (Story, Mercenary and Versus) and hundreds of possible scenarios within each mode for unlimited replay value. No two games will ever be the same!

In November, we descend into the dark to fight monsters once more,  and we court neutral organizations to help us win a galactic war!

Core Worlds: Galactic Orders

In Core Worlds: Galactic Orders – the first expansion to Core Worlds, the deck-building card game of intergalactic conquest – players begin to forge alliances with the six Galactic Orders, powerful organizations that have maintained their independence in the midst of a crumbling empire. These Orders consist of the Galactic Senate, the Science Guild, the Merchant Alliance, the Mining Coalition, the Order of Knighthood, and the Mystic Brotherhood. The Galactic Orders expansion focuses on these six independent organizations and their influence upon a galaxy at war.

Each Galactic Order is represented on the table by a large Galactic Order card that specifies the special power associated with that Order, and each player starts with 20 Faction Tokens that match the Faction symbols on their Starting Decks. Whenever a player deploys a Unit or plays a Tactic with a Galactic Order icon on it, he gets to place his Faction Token onto the corresponding Galactic Order card. Players must choose between leaving their Faction Tokens on the Galactic Order cards to score points at the end of the game, or removing their Faction Tokens in order to use the unique special powers associated with each Order.

Descent: Journeys in the Dark 2E – Lair of the Worm

Descent: Journeys in the Dark 2E – Lair of the Wyrm introduces five new quests that can be played individually or used to supplement a larger campaign. With inventive objectives like rescuing survivors from a burning inn and protecting valuable ore from a greedy ettin, the Quest Guide in Lair of the Wyrm delivers fresh new challenges to your adventures.

What’s more, Lair of the Wyrm brings two new heroes to the fight against the forces of evil. Reynhart the Worthy is a fearless warrior whose prowess in combat means he rarely makes mistakes. He can reroll misses once per attack, helping to ensure that every strike is righteous and true. Meanwhile, High Mage Quellen is a master of body and mind, and is able to quickly recover from exertions that would devastate lesser men. Quellen has developed the ability to feed off the fatigue of those around him, gaining strength where his fellows fail.

But even as the heroes of Terrinoth gain new allies and tactics, their great enemy silently grows in sinister power. In addition to the Wyrm Queen herself, a fearsome Dragon Lord lieutenant seemingly formed from solidified flame, the Overlord gains two new monsters: Fire Imps and flying, half-dragon Hybrid Sentinels!
