We are 3 months into 2010 and so far it has been a hectic one.

As we always joke in the store, Tzeentch is our patron God. Tzeentch for those of you who do not know is one of the 4 Chaos Gods within the Warhammer Universe and is the God of Change.

Change is something that we have had to deal with over the past few years.

For those of you who do not know or cannot remember, PI is going to be turning 8 next month (April). 

Yup. 8 years old. If PI was a kid, we'd be in Primary 2 right about now. :)

But we're not a kid and surprisingly we have with the support of all our loyal customers gotten past that difficult first year and first 5 years of being in business. We have over the years, seen our staff come and go. Full-timers and Part-timers alike.

We saw our first attempt at expanding by taking over a store in Siglap Centre fail.

Failing is a humbling experience. We learnt a lot more from failure than we do from Success. Not that I would encourage people to fail, but for me having failed in school (Chinese and Statistics) before, I know the lessons that come with it. And as I tell the people who come to the store, in order to win, you must first learn how to lose. ;)

April of course with us turning 8 brings some new changes to the store.

As some of you may have noticed, Da Bear has not been in the store lately. We have a new store manager, Javen who has taken over from Fara who because of her ill-health needs to rest and recuperate. Javen comes from a Board Gaming background having run Settlers North Canal Branch for several years although he has now been giving a crash course in miniature gaming as well.

So what has Da Bear been up to?

We have been over the past few months been looking around for a new location to expand into. And I am happy to say that we should be on-track to open up our 2nd branch at Fusionopolis @ One-North by the 1st week of April

The work on the unit is progressing. As you can see, the flooring has been down and we are on track to have it ready soon.

I will be moving over to Fusionopolis once it is open to keep an eye on things until the shop is stable. So for those of you happy folks (you know who you are) who work in the area, do drop by during lunch if you can and keep me company. :)

I was playing Ubongo with my daughter last Sunday and my cat decided to take part in the fun.

So as my cat would sayz, "Ubongo!"
