*gasp*
I turn my back for 2sec and there's 20 kajillion new posts!

urm..

PI's Table is kool with me, I have no problem with it.

(Vote +1)

As for Character concept, just remember it's not D&D; social interaction and wits is really important, and I make it play by the players, not the characters (You have to convince me first to let you roll that 7 in Folk ken).

I'll let 'Olive' talk about his Character.

I'm playing a Hermetic prodigy, born and raised in the order, crushed by the expectations of his peers. To-the-point and one-step-ahead are his social 'virtue' where he find his only expression in the intricate magical items he creates. His curse (the negative side of the gift (-3 social rolls in game-term)) comes from this knowledge he has that he must do the best he can, and this best just happen to better than most. Often seen as pedant and unforgiving, he is a strong, almost ruthless, leader of mundane affairs, letting his magical skills speaks for themselves when he has (the least he can) to deal with his pairs. ~Exitus acta probat~

I'm good for next week. Gotta tell me a few days in advance so I can book the table.

Regarding character concept, I'm playing Silas, a covenant-born House Ex Miscellanea wizard just out of apprenticeship. It's slightly different from my original character concept of a talky politico-type character

Short Character Bio:
Silas is a something of an oddity. He's a wizard but he's approachable. He looks big and dumb, but he has a keen mind behind his imposing bulk. He speaks Latin like he was born to it, but he can drink like the lowest commoner. He is a study in contrasts and a lesson not to take everything at face value.

His training was a blend of Hermetic Arts and rigourous physical exercise. To call him a warrior monk would not be far wrong. His knowledge of the Hermetic Arts outstripped the other apprentices at his master's covenant, which brought his master numerous accolades. Day and night, he was drilled to hone his mind and body, to be the sword that House Tytalus needed to advance it's cause.

The gruelling Tytalus apprenticeship made him strong, patient and above all determined in the face of hardship. But in his quiter moments he realized that he didn't believe in his House's philosophy. After he passed the Gauntlet, he made his choice to rescind his membership in House Tytalus and join the fractured and disorganized Ex Miscellanea. His master, not surprisingly, was wroth with rage but also quietly impressed with his pupil's independance.

Silas believes in being prepared for every eventuality and takes measured steps to reduce risk. His approach has always been calm and rigid control. He's now with House Ex Miscellanea as he has decided that his master's agenda isn't what he has in mind. His parens of course wants his star filius and experiment back in the fold, which causes Silas no little grief.

I would still like to play with the new ones even if Olive can't for the next two week.

Are all available?

We could do this at my place, since I haven't found a flatmate yet. It's a wee bit more convenient for me since it means I can sleep more before starting to play.

I'm available to play this Wednesday. I'll need an address and directions to your place, but I shld be able to get there after work, no matter where it is. I work in town, so I can get to most places in 45 minutes. I don't mind putting up with the rush hour crush for a game. :D

Do you want me to send you a copy of my c-sheet or something beforehand? I don't believe in surprising my GMs. ;)

Good Evening,

I am NOT FAMILIAR with the world of Ars Magika, but have played other systems (well, almost all the RPG systems that PI stocks with anyhow...). If the team doesn't mind a rule noob, but an experienced roleplayer, I would like to join the covenent.

Please advise.

I have downloaded Ars Magika and will read the concepts. Pending entry approval

I have in mind a certain Dresden (not sure if it fits into the system...

Cheers.

Vree

Errm HT, you may want to edit your "PS" post. It's sort of taboo. 4th Edition Ars Magica is available for free download on the official Atlas Games website. I think we're playing 5th Edition though but there should be enough similiarities ;)

I'm playing a Morgan or Ebeneezer McCoy-type magi though. Or you could call it a Space Marine Librarian.

Uh HT, i didn't mean the "PS" portion of your post. I meant the sentence AFTER the PS part of your post. Which includes the word "download". Which is what I meant by taboo. This is a corporate forum.

oh..no worries. It is a totally legal download from the owner of the book. I got the 4th ed so its free. The 5th ed is downloadable for a fee but I want to get the GM's go ahead and confirmation before I pay for it.

I support copy....right!

HT

Ok. Am now familiar with Ars Magika.

Will venture into character creation (story ready - only need to put it into game mechanics).

GM, please advise if I am able to join and which edition are we using, please?

Many thanks!

You're in, no problems. Rule savyness never stopped anyone for enjoying a game.

We'll be playing 5th Ed.

We WON'T be playing tomorrow (today, depending when you read this post).

Bad case of tonsilitis (whatever it spelled).

We are DEFINITELY on for next week.

Then back on the 26th as I'll be out in Bali for the 19th.

I can be reached by e-mail or by Gtalk: Taruko[dot]Sama[At]Gmail[dot]com
MSN: Dracof[At]Hotmail[dot]com
Icq: 802846[8+1]

Ok...going to tweak so we don't all look the same...

Kekeke...I was reading the WH40K Grey Knights Trilogy when I got my inspiration for Silas. I wanted to play a Grey Knight / Space Marine Librarian character and I saw Giant Blood.

THEN i saw Strong Farie Blood and i thought, "Darkvision and long lifespan...KEWL!". Then i was trying to fit everything into a House Flambeau or House Merinita but couldn't.

THEN I saw Ex Miscellanea, and it was SWEET! I wanted to squeeze in Gentle Gift because interaction with mundanes is important for my character. He's already scary-big and likely to scare villagers, so I wanted a relatively friendly giant. That's probably the main difference between your character concept and mine right? ;)

I tried to post-pone this post as far as I could, to be sure....

NO game this week either.

STILL down from the same thing as last week!

And I'm leaving in 2 days... arg!

Anyway, if sunshine, little cocktails and leisure can't fix me, PFffff!

See ya all on the 26th.

I'll most probably be online tonight, so if you wanna chat to play-by-post or smooth your background, I'd be happy to. I just can't talk.
