Games@Pi is currently preparing a new batch of orders from Reaper Miniatures soon!
While we’re restocking our wall of Bones Miniatures, if you’re interested in ordering any specific miniatures from Reaper, do let us know on our Discord where we’re compiling orders and we can have them in with the next shipment.
Orders close 6th March, so if you’ve got special requests, let us know.
“Stop the world, I want to get off” goes the song. With the way things are going, perhaps it’s time to go on a long trip.
Except… as evidenced by Terraforming Mars: Turmoil, things aren’t going so well up there. Between navigating the political power struggles between ideologies and sending your own delegates to influence the handwringing Terraforming Committee, you’ve got your work cut out for you… if the new global events don’t ruin things entirely.
Okay. So maybe Mars is a bit far. We think Japan sounds nice. Ride the Shinkansen in the Ticket to Ride Japan/Italy Expansion. Weigh your options carefully between your contribution to Japan’s growing communal Bullet Train Network, a rail project with routes which are shared with all players and scoring your own individual tracks. After all, nobody likes a free rider and those who skip out will have penalties levied accordingly.
And for those who’d rather stay and veg… recommending Point Salad might be a little over-literal, but that doesn’t stop it from being a great game. A fast playing card drafting game, Point Salad has players drafting ingredients for their score piles, with a unique system where cards represent both the vegetables you need to fulfill the objectives and the objectives themselves – players must choose between grabbing vegetables to rack up scores, and grabbing the scoring objectives themselves.
We may have announced that we’re scaling back events in our store, but this isn’t the end of the world. Instead the Games @ PI staff are hard at work to battle the blues with a massive stack of goodies.*
Back in stock are sought after titles like Apples to Apples,Munchkin Deluxe, Forbidden Island, Spot It, 7 Wonders Duel, Lifeboat, Catan, Ultimate Werewolf and Jungle Speed: Skwak. On the other hand, if you want to put you deductive skills to the test you can take Silver, Deception: Murder in Hong Kong, Chronicles of Crime and Detective: A Modern Crime Game. Next up are modern classics like Tiny Towns, Silver, Hanabi, Scythe, Sagrada and Spyfall. And if you just want to double down on the irony**, consider picking up a copy of Pandemic and its expansions, or go all the way with Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 and Pandemic Legacy: Season 2!
Alternatively, you might be after something new. We can help with that too.
In light of the Ministry of Health’s 2019 novel coronavirus risk assessment being raised to DORSCON Orange, the Games @ PI Management Team has opted to scale back our organised play event during the month of February, in line with Ministry suggestions to cancel or defer non-essential large scale events.
This will affect organised play events in our store, including the upcoming Board Game Events, Star Wars X-Wing Fly-Casual Tournament as well as Dungeons & Dragons Adventurers League Meetups held in our store. Announcements specific to the affected gaming communities will be issued shortly.
There are two naturally occuring states in the gaming world. The first is ‘Enough Pokemon’. The second is ‘Not Enough Pokemon’.
We’ve seen a bit of a dry spell of late, but it’s Friday, which in addition to being a day to flee the office, also sees the release of the Pokemon: Sword & Shield set for the Pokemon TCG. The release of this set, with its infusion of all new Galar themed Pokemon, trainers and items is likely enough to shift the needle comfortably into ‘Enough Pokemon’.
