Do you believe in Magic?

Hey PI-Fans,

Restocks are in. This time around, we’re looking at Ticket to Ride Germany and a hefty slab of Tokaido, Carcassonne,  Pandemic and Codenames.

Of course, we’re also keeping the new stuff flowing as usual. So here’s what’s up.

Did you ever want you brain teasers to go three dimensional? Get ready for an intense 3-dimensional puzzle game that will bend your mind. In this game you must arrange the blocks to match the “shadows” depicted on the challenge cards. Shadow Blocks contains three levels of difficulty and enough blocks for up to four players.

Dice Bazaar is a family friendly, dice game for two to four players in which players compete to purchase the most valuable products at the bazaar.  On your turn, roll your six player dice. Use those dice, plus any items you’ve already purchased, to trade for goods like spices, tea kettles, pottery and gems, each of which have a certain appraised value. Once two items are sold out, the merchant goes home for the day. The shopper that got the most valuable items for their money is victorious!

In Baby Blues, every player is an employee in a daycare center. You are responsible for five babies, and you will have to do anything that is needed to keep them happy. As soon as they start crying, you won’t be able to make them happy again. To make your life hard in the daycare center, opponents will attach bad cards to your babies so that they become unhappy. When a player is faced with five crying babies, the game is over and the other players score points for all non-crying babies.

Challenge rival students to become the best in class in Arcane Academy, a board game of tile-linking wizardry that pits young spellcasters against one another in a duel for honor and prestige. Forge potent magic items and wield wickedly powerful elemental energies to out-think and out-maneuver your opponents.

A Dire Need Of Caffeine And A Snack…

Hey PI-Fans,

I had something typed up. Then the internet went out.
So. Imagine something witty and laden with dry humor. Then remember you’re talking about Kenneth and remember that that would basically never happen ever.

In lieu of a proper announcement, I figure that I should inform all those who preordered the L5R The Fires Within and The Ebb and Flow Dynasty packs that they are available for collection. The same applies with the Arkham Horror: The Boundary Beyond Mythos pack.

Then there’s the board games.

In this fast-paced Ticket to Ride game, players race one another through the busy streets of New York City to visit the most prestigious Tourist Attractions and complete their Destination Tickets. Ticket to Ride: New York features the familiar gameplay from the Ticket to Ride game series — collect cards, claim routes, draw tickets — but on a scaled-down map of Manhattan that allows you to complete a game in 15 minutes.

Send your animals out to hunt for food, but always be mindful of lurking predators. In Om Nom Nom, players send out their predators to hunt for food sequentially, attempting to gather prey without drawing the attention of other players. Will you be able to second guess your way to victory or will your critters get too greedy and end up a snack for another player’s food chain?

Need a jolt to get your day off to a great start? Jump into the game of Caffeine Rush for a latte fun! You share a workspace with your fellow baristas and orders are flying in fast and furious. Grab the ingredients you need to pump out orders and rake in the tips! But be careful — if someone else finishes your work, they’ll get the tips!

Strange Things Happen

Hey PI-Fans,

Sometimes these things take a while. But they show up eventually.

It’s a LCG heavy release week, with a couple of strategic reprints as well. The Arkham Horror LCG gets bulkier with the Threads of Fate Mythos pack, and Return to the Night of the Zealot expansions, while the Tainted Lands and Breath of the Kami expansions for Legends of the Five Rings are in.

We’ve also taken the opportunity to restock Catan, Cranium, Concept as well as reprints of the previously out-of-print Pandemic: On The Brink Expansion as well as NMBR 9 and Jungle Speed.

So gaming.

Grombindal’s Perilous Incline League

Hey PI-Fans,

Whether you worship the God-Emperor, the God-King or you’re a dirty heretic, xenophile, poncy aelf, glorious beardling… well…

*AHEM* Apologies.

Regardless, it’s time to break out all those little plastic, resin and metal toy soldiers and hit the table with Grombindal’s Perilous Incline League in tribute to that most baronial of beardlings and his magnificent magazine.

Curious how this is going to work? Well look no further. Well… actually… look further, since if you stop here, this just isn’t going to work.

If you don’t actually sign up, nobody is going to know you’re actually on the ladder. And then nobody is going to be able to acknowledge your prowess and generalship. There are benefits to anonymity. This isn’t one of them.
Notice that we didn’t specify either Warhammer 40,000 or Warhammer Age of Sigmar? Well, there are two ladders, so play both. Simultaneously, if you have to. *
When you sign up, your name will be placed at the bottom of the table. Don’t let it stay that way for long. If you turn the tables on someone higher ranked than you and walk away victorious, you swap positions on the ladder (There’s that Perilous Incline for you). If you triumph against a player lower ranked than you, you ascend a slot. Just play. **
The top name at the end of the month gets a copy of White Dwarf FREE. Wouldn’t be Grombindal’s Perilous Incline League without the White Dwarf himself would it?
    Admiration and friends sold separately.

* Please don’t.
** Any Player who doesn’t play a game within the month drops to the bottom of the ladder. No, you don’t get to be Skaven Warlord and squat on the top spot by avoiding games.

“Violence is what people do when they run out of good ideas.”

Hey PI-Fans,

We’ve buried our staff under a flurry of dice, and they’re frantically sorting them. In the meantime… well…

I’m going to sit here and talk about games.

Because it’s what I do.

Also dice. Because that’s apparently ALSO what I do.

Especially these little fellas who have apparently earned the nickname of ‘Kueh Lapis’ dice amongst the staff.

Are you good with nautical nonsense? Can you kep a seacret? That’s seaaaa-crets. You get it. Try to collect four of the same card before any of the other teams, then pass a secret signal to your teammate. If your partner sees your signal and yells, “YOU’VE GOT CRABS,” you GAIN a point. If an opponent sees your signal and yells, “You’ve got crabs,” you LOSE a point. The team with the most crustaceans effectively wins the game.

The Expanse Board Game is a game of politics, conquest, and intrigue for two to four players based on the television series of the same name. The UN forces of Earth, the military of Mars, the rebels of the O.P.A., and the mysterious Protogen Inc. spread their influence through the solar system, seizing important bases to dominate the solar system, moving fleets, gaining influence, maneuvering their agents and even manipulating the crew of the famous Rocinante in order to maximize control.

Nobody said being a dragon breeder was easy…and the competition is heating up! You begin Dragon Pets with two fine dragons specimens in search of mates. You must send your Dragon Seekers into the forest to collect more dragons, forming mating pairs before other breeders trying to grab the best dragons before you can: The 1783rd annual dragon breeding competition is about to begin. Can you outwit your rivals and claim the title of Supreme Dragon Breeder?
