We’re Closing Early On January 1st

Happy New Year, PI-Fans!

Our store will be closing at 7pm on Sunday, January 1st for a staff gathering instead of our usual 10pm.  We’ll be back to regular operating hours on January 2nd, 2017.

On behalf of the Games @ PI Team, thanks and best wishes for 2017.

Cancellation Of The Games @ PI Warehouse Sale

Cancellation Of The 31/12/16 Warehouse Sale

Hey PI-Fans,

Our apologies, but due to issues beyond our control, we’ve had to cancel the 31st December 2016 warehouse sale.

Although our staff have worked incredibly hard getting the sale ready to launch on the 31st, building management has opted to veto the event today (30/12/16), and we are abiding by their wishes.

Regardless, we’re still moving to an all new warehouse location and will continue to bring you awesome games in the year ahead.

Again, our sincerest apologies for the last minute change of plans due to Murphy’s Law kicking in, and we hope to see you in 2017.

– Kenneth, Games @ PI Management

Murphy Wins

Hey PI-Fans,

Remember when I said this morning that “this might be the last supply run of the year“?”

Murphy is laughing.

Meanwhile, the self-declared party game for horrible people keeps going with The Green Box, a Cards Against Humanity bundle expansion containing sets 7, 8 and 9.

The Cards Against Humanity team would like you to know that The Green Box contains 300 totally new cards you can add to your deck of Cards Against Humanity, which is great because you love Cards Against Humanity! It also contains more cards in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Because 2016 isn’t over yet…

Hey PI-Fans,

We think this is might be the last supply run of the year. We think, anyway… Murphy is probably somewhere laughing.

Anyway, the releases keep on coming, don’t they. Fresh off the assembly line containing more MEC Troopers than you can shake a stick at is XCOM: Evolution expansion to Eric Lang’s aneurysm inducing XCOM The Board Game. On top of this comes the Colt Express: Marshal and Prisoners expansion, Brew Crafters, Candy ChaserClacks! A Discworld Boardgame and Banner Saga Warband.

Plus, RPG players will be happy with a supply of Fiasco and Call of Cthulhu 7E.

So, well… we’re not about to let up either.

The XCOM: Evolution expansion complicates your war effort with new missions, enemies, and invasion plans, as well as mechanics that make your struggles more dangerous than ever. As the alien forces spread and peril increases, the sinister humans of the EXALT seek to take advantage of the chaos to infiltrate and destroy XCOM from within. Their treachery leads to new challenges, and you’ll face new crises, you’ll find your work subverted, and you’ll have to deal with new threats to the very resources you need to win the war.

The Grand Trunk Semaphore Company has revolutionized long-distance communications on Discworld, but now the old postal service is fighting back. Driven by the determination of newly “volunteered” Post Master Moist Von Lipwig, the Ankh-Morpork Post Office has challenged the Clacks operators to a race from Ankh-Morpork to Genua. Claim the title of Fastest Clacks Operator on the line, or play together as a team to win the race across the Discworld and prove that Clacks is here to stay.

The Banner Saga: Warbands is a cooperative game for 1-4 players. Players take up the roles of  Quartermaster, Keeper of Names, Warmaster, and Thane tasked with keeping a warband together and alive. Each role must aggressively push for resolutions that help out themselves, while being open to compromise for the good of the group in this a cooperative, miniatures board game that deals with the difficulties and consequences of decision making.

Candy Chaser is a bluffing game in which the players are smuggling illegal candy. Rolling the die, you want to elevate the price of your candy in order to win, but if the others find out what you’re smuggling, you’re arrested. The game ends when one candy reaches the top price, at which point every one gets to accuse one other player for what they smuggle. Arrested players are out of the game. The winner is the remaining player with the highest priced candy.

Post-XMAS Restocking

Wow, PI-Fans.

Given the sheer quantity of restocks I’ve had to roll into the store, you guys don’t mess around with your Christmas shopping. Then again, this message might be typed by  a cat on the internet, so what do I know. But what the hey…

There’s plenty of new stuff too, to ensure you get to ring in the new year with new stuff too.

Set in the Second World War, Barbarossa features German military girls rushing to Moscow to defeat the evil magician Stalin. Wait… What… *COUGH COUGH*

Sorry. Barbarossa is a deck building card game loosely based around the German invasion of the USSR during World War 2 as illustrated by Japanese fanzine artists.

Boss Monster: Crash Landing expands the dungeon-building card game to 5-6 players and introduces a new set of science fiction-themed Bosses, Heroes, Spells, and an all new treasure type, the Alien Artifact. With Crash Landing you can teach even more of your friends a lesson in deadly dungeon design.

Champions of Midgard is Viking-themed, worker placement game with dice rolling in which players are leaders of Viking clans who have traveled to an embattled Viking harbor town to help defend it against the threat of mythological Norse beasts. By defeating these epic creatures, players gain glory and the favor of the gods. When the game ends, the player who has earned the most glory earns the title of Jarl and is recognized as a champion of Midgard!

The citizens of Verona have grown tired of the constant quarrel between the houses of Capulet and Montague. In Council of Verona, players take on the role of influential citizens of Verona and act to use their influence to either add characters to the council or cast them into exile. Through thoughtful hand management of their cards and clever placement of influence tokens, players gain victory points based upon the agendas of the characters at the end of the game.

In the tile-laying game Isle of Skye: From Chieftain to King, 2-5 players are chieftains of famous clans and want to build their kingdoms to score as many points as possible — but in each game only four of the sixteen scoring tiles will be scored. Players must watch their finances as land will be auctioned off to build their kingdom, forcing players to weigh finances against expansion. However, in the end, the player with the best kingdom — and not the richest player — becomes the sovereign of the island.

More Boxes More Stuff

Hey PI-Fans,

It’s the lead up to Christmas. And we’re prepping the store for the final rush. In the meantime… new releases just in time for Christmas.

The forest is growing fast! As caretakers for Kodama, the tree spirits, you must keep the forest a healthy and lush home for your little friends. Over three growing seasons, you must cultivate trees with the right mix of flowers, insects, and branch arrangements to make your Kodama as happy as possible. Whoever cares for their Kodama best will be remembered for generations!

Love Letter Premium is designed for the person who loves Love Letter. It is presented in a deluxe box with a magnetic clasp featuring a special red velvet tray for storage. Inside you’ll find tarot-sized cards and sleeves for both the classic Love Letter card set and an all new extension to the game that enables play for up to 8 players. Special heart-shaped Affection Tokens are also included.

Dive into a cyberpunk dystopia and become a shadowrunner, a deniable asset who does the jobs no one else can—or will—do. It’s not an easy life, but it beats selling your soul to the megacorps. You’ll break into top-secret labs, stand up to gangs bent on destruction and chaos, encounter dark spirits hiding even darker secrets, and come face to face with some of the infinite dangers the Sixth World can throw at you. And you’ll come out on top—because if you don’t, you don’t get paid.

In The Lone Wolf Adventure Game you are Kai Lords – brave and noble warrior-monks sworn to protect the realm of Sommerlund from the evil of the Darklords – adventuring across the world of Magnamund. You and your friends will face terrifying enemies and uncover fiendish plots, working together to overcome the wicked plans of the Darklords and emerge victorious!

Journey through the off-kilter imagination of Sir Terry Pratchett in the Discworld Roleplaying Game. Visit settings like the most dubious city in the multiverse, Ankh-Morpork. Intervene in the cultural interactions of trolls and dwarves (but watch out for flying axes). Campaign for goblin rights. Flee from an angry Swamp Dragon (two feet of mindless fury and high-explosive digestion). Even find out why the why the second-greatest lover on the Disc needs a stepladder. And remember, the world is round. And also flat.

OGRE and its sequel G.E.V., are tactical ground combat games set in the not-so-distant future. In 2085 A.D., armored warfare continues – faster and deadlier than ever. Hovercraft, tanks and infantry slug it out with tactical nuclear devices. But the most feared weapon of all needs no human guidance. It’s a giant cybernetic tank called the OGRE.

Dixit: Revelations is an expansion for Dixit that contains 84 new cards for use with that game. Dixit: Revelations invites you to go beyond what you see at first glance and discover what lies hidden between — or hidden by — the lines.

Morning PI-Fans,

In lieu of the regular manager update, I decided I would announce today’s releases in the form of interpretative dance.

But then I realized how stupid that would have been, which I also suspect to be a sign that the Christmas rush getting to me.

So let’s not.

Anyway, In addition to the regular restocks of all those staples you’ve grown to know and love like Carcassone, King of Tokyo, The Resistance and Ugly Doll… Plus as a bonus, the staff have been driven half to tears sorting that all new shipment of Reaper Bones miniatures, so that’s a thing.

Meanwhile… as you can tell from the picture above, Exploding Kittens has an expansion. And it’s… well… Imploding Kittens. I guess… And seriously, that box is huge. It has to be to store that Human-sized “Cone of Shame”.

I wouldn’t know personally. After all, there’s the possibility I could just be a cat on the internet.

1. (used as an exclamation expressing surprise, delight, joy, etc.)
2. the sound of a retail manager being buried under boxes

Hey PI-Fans,

The Law of Shipment Attraction strikes! Today sees the return of titles that were previously unobtainium like Sushi Go Party, Mice & Mystics, Jungle Speed Raving Rabbids, Dead of Winter, Pandemic and more.

And then there’s the new stuff.

This expansion set for Tragedy Looper contains one new Basic Tragedy Script, and nine scripts that take on two new Tragedy Sets: Prime Evil and Cosmic Mythology.  Escape classic horror movie monsters in Prime Evil and warp reality with ancient magic in Cosmic Mythology, as you try to stop the mastermind killing you all.

Combine, overlap, and even animate the special transparent cards in this fast guessing free-for-all. More than one thousand items from all walks of life can be guessed through the use of 61 transparent cards in Imagine, whether they’re placed next to one another or superimposed. Almost everything in the world can be represented by a simplified concept — just don’t speak while you’re playing…

Outmaneuver your opponents in this full-tilt action brain-builder! Arrange your tiles in Skiwampus so that the corners connect to form an array of patterns, whether most colors, all numbers, three of a kind, or more. But work quickly because everyone plays at the same time! It’s a geometric jam that requires sharp eyes, quick thinking, and nimble hands.

In SeaFall, the world is starting to claw its way out of a dark age and has begun to rediscover seafaring technology. Players take on the role of a mainland empire that consults with a consortium of advisors to discover new islands, explore those islands, develop trade, send out raiding parties, take part in ship-to-ship combat, and more. SeaFall evolves as the game is played, setting their grudges into the history of the game and building a different narrative at every table as players open up the world.

BANG! The Dice Game – Old Saloon consists of five modules that can be used individually or in any combination with BANG! The Dice Game. The expansion features lethal new characters, extra roles, new tokens, and two Saloon dice: the Loudmouth and the Coward.
